American Legion Post 323 located in Wentzville, Missouri

The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is the nation’s largest veterans service organization, committed to mentoring and sponsorship of youth programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting a strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow servicemembers and veterans.

In contrast to other veterans organizations, the Legion offers a number of local programs and activities to strengthen its commitment to our nation’s grass roots and the people we serve. American Legion Baseball is one of the nation’s most successful amateur athletic programs; it continues to educate youths on the importance of sportsmanship and develops the quality of our country’s citizenship. The Heroes to Hometowns program is the only nationwide reintegration assistance service for wounded veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan. Additionally, millions of dollars in donations have been given to fellow veterans and their families in times of grief, and various scholarship opportunities ensure the future success of our youth.

The American Legion is a nonpartisan, not-for-profit organization with great political influence perpetuated by its grass-roots involvements in the legislation process. Legionnaires’ sense of obligation to their community, state and nation drives an honest advocacy for veterans in Washington. The Legion stands not behind politics, but the issues and people that institute progress by focusing on veterans rights and quality of life.

The American Legion’s success depends entirely on active membership, participation and volunteerism. The organization belongs to the people it serves and the communities in which it thrives.

BINGO

Change to BINGO OPERATIONS

Effective 1 Dec, and until further notice, Bingo will be indoors on a modified schedule. Bingo will be FRIDAY ONLY as we do not currently have enough volunteers available during the pandemic to operate on both Wednesdays and Fridays. If you are able to volunteer, we would love to have the help; we will have to put in place additional safety precautions to help prevent the spread of COVID to include Physical barriers (Plexiglas) and we will be requiring the wearing of masks for all Workers and Bingo customer, and will also be sanitizing the Post before each Bingo session. As most of you know, our Bingo is the main source of income to not only pay our bills each month but also fund the numerous American Legion Programs that our Post is so active in.

BINGO is played every Wednesday and Friday nights at 6:45 p.m with the Post doors opening at 4:45 pm. Everyone must have an admission card. A person of any age may play Bingo games. Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Only persons 18 years of age or older may play ‘pull tab’ games. (See http://law.lis.virginia.gov/admincode/title11/agency15/chapter40/section50/.)

Additional information can be found on our Facebook page:

PLEASE NOTE: WHILE THE KITCHEN IS CLOSED, FOOD IS PERMITTED — HOWEVER, all food must be consumed prior to the start of regular BINGO, and players are required to wear a mask/face shield covering the nose and mouth at all times. We have a vending machine for beverages.

PLEASE NOTE: Our address is 1141 Mountain View Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22406.

Individual games pay $100 each with a Jackpot game of $1,000 at the end of each session. Books start out at $18. There are also specialty games — Sputnik and Lucky 7 — that have progressive jackpots. You can support your Post either as a volunteer or a player — but not both — at either session.

As a reminder, BINGO and the Post are now Smoke Free!
